Local Priorities Theft From Motor Vehicle Concern Update - DISABLE BADGE THEFTS |

I wanted to provide an update regarding theft from motor vehicles, which members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey. As part of National Blue Badge Enforcement Week a joint Operation between Police and Hackney parking service today- in the Homerton and Leabridge area's inspecting vehicles displaying Disabled badges. 45 Blue badges were Inspected , We Seized 4 Stolen badges and removed 3 Vehicles to the Car pound. Police and Council will conduct further investigation and will be looking to prosecute the individuals. Having personal items stolen from your vehicle is an upsetting experience, and we are determined to find and arrest those who break the law. We will keep you updated with what we are doing to tackle this in your area, but in the meantime, please follow the below advice to help protect your belongings.
